Proper maintenance of a chili sorting machine directly extends its service life and ensures sorting accuracy, focusing on three core areas: daily cleaning, regular inspections, and component maintenance.
I. Daily Maintenance: Mandatory After Each Use
Daily maintenance is the foundation for preventing malfunctions and should be completed within 1 hour after each shutdown.
Comprehensive Cleaning: First, cut off the power supply. Use a high-pressure air gun or a soft-bristle brush to clean chili residues and dust from the conveyor belt, sorting channels, optical lenses, and light source surfaces. Wipe the lenses with a dedicated lens cloth to avoid scratches that could affect recognition accuracy.
Waste Material Cleaning: Promptly empty the waste collection bin and the material-receiving bins for chili peppers of different grades. This prevents residual chilies from mildewing, breeding bacteria, and contaminating the materials to be sorted next time.
Basic Inspection: Visually check if the conveyor belt is misaligned or has surface damage. Inspect if the screws at all connection points are loose, and adjust or tighten them promptly if any issues are found.
II. Regular Maintenance: Perform on a Scheduled Basis (Recommended Weekly/Monthly)
Regular maintenance should be conducted at fixed intervals. The specific frequency can be adjusted based on the daily operation hours of the equipment (if operation exceeds 8 hours, shorten the interval).

Inspection of the transmission system 2. Inspection of pneumatic components |
1. Check if the motor and reducer operate with normal sounds, and if there is any abnormal noise or overheating. 2. Check if the air cylinders and air pipes leak, and replace damaged pipes or sealing rings promptly. |

Lubrication and maintenance Calibration of the optical system 3. Inspection of the electrical system |
1. Add special lubricating oil to transmission components such as bearings and chains in accordance with the instructions. 2. Use the calibration tools provided with the equipment to recalibrate the recognition accuracy of the cameras and light sources. 3. Check if the wires and plugs are aged or damaged, and clean the dust inside the distribution box. |
III. Special Maintenance: For Long-Term Shutdowns or Malfunctions
Long-Term Shutdown (Over 1 Month):
Thoroughly clean the inside and outside of the equipment, especially the gaps where materials are likely to remain.
Disconnect the main power supply, unplug the plug, and cover the equipment surface with a dust cover.
Adjust the conveyor belt to a relaxed state to prevent deformation caused by long-term tension.
Maintenance After Malfunctions:
In case of malfunctions such as material jamming or inaccurate sorting, stop the machine first before troubleshooting. Never handle manually while the machine is running.
When replacing parts (such as lenses and air cylinders), use original accessories to avoid mismatched models affecting equipment performance.
After repairing the malfunction, conduct a small-scale test run first. Confirm that the sorting accuracy and operating status are normal before resuming mass production.
