Most potassium feldspar operations lose money on impurities. Quartz, mica, iron stains – they all lower your grade. Manual sorting is too slow, and flotation costs too much in chemicals and water.
We make an optical sorter that fixes this at the front end. It goes right after your crusher, before any expensive downstream processing.
Here's what it does. Crushed ore feeds onto a belt. A CCD camera scans every particle. When it spots bad material – off-color, stained, or wrong mineral – air jets blow it out. Good feldspar keeps moving. That's it. No moving parts in the sensing area. No chutes that break your material.
The machine runs 24/7 in dusty conditions. A rotating brush keeps the camera clean. You set the color and brightness thresholds once, then let it work. It handles 5–50mm material and can process 10–30 tons per hour depending on belt width.
Why use it? Three reasons. First, you pull out waste rock early, so your mill and flotation circuit only handle material worth processing. That cuts energy and chemical use by 20–40%. Second, you get a consistent product – buyers in glass and ceramics pay more for stable quality. Third, you reduce tailings and water consumption.
